Santa Ana High Dance Conservatory is a rigorous program that provides dance training in modern, ballet, jazz, hip hop and folklorico technique and choreography. Through physical and theoretical practice, students will study dance from all points of view and be well-prepared to perform, choreograph, discuss and write about dance from all perspectives. Students will graduate as well-rounded dancers and scholars, studying in a variety of dance styles with a strong foundation in composition, improvisation, dance history, body placement, pilates, and music for dancers, with an emphasis on stage performance. Students will be developed, supported and encouraged to reach their full artistic and academic potential. Master classes and guest artist residencies occur each term to allow students to work closely with renowned teachers and choreographers. Additionally, there are abundant opportunities to study and view professional dance artists and companies in many performance venues. Students will explore career and post-secondary pursuits with connection to college and industry opportunities.
